#BCEagles Newsstand: ALS Awareness Game at Fenway

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – On Saturday, the Boston College baseball team hosted No. 17 Florida State at Fenway Park for the Seventh Annual ALS Awareness Game in honor of former captain and ALS patient and advocate Pete Frates '07.

Boston College alum and Fox 25 Boston sports anchor Tom Leyden was there to cover the event, speaking to Pete's parents, John and Nancy Frates, and head coach Mike Gambino.

John, Pete's father, spoke to NESN and thanked Major League Baseball for its involvement in raising awareness for ALS, especially the hometown Red Sox, donated the iconic Fenway Park.

The Boston Herald was on hand to put together a photo gallery of the day's events.

Culminating the weekend, was the news that the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum – which the Eagles visited in the fall – opened its exhibit "ALS and Baseball" in Cooperstown, which features Frates, Lou Gehrig and Catfish Hunter.
