Eagles Race at Ocean State Invitational

BC had five top-five finishers over the course of the two day meet
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Boston College women's track and field team competed at the Ocean State Invitational in Providence, R.I. on Friday – Saturday, April 13-14.
Standout performances include a second place finish in the 3000 by freshman Colleen Sliney and a third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles by senior Julia Barron. In the field events, sophomore Abigail Gothers took fourth in the high jump. Over the two day event, BC had five individuals finish in the top five in their respective events.
BC will race in its fourth meet of the outdoor season when it travels to Princeton, N.J. to participate in the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday, April 20 – Saturday, April 21.

BC Highlights:
- Senior Johanna Celli took fifth place in the 200 meter dash, crossing the line in 25.61.
- Freshman Anne Leahy finished in fifth place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.84.
- Senior Molly McCabe finished in seventh place overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.47. Junior Gianna Bender as close behind at 2:13. 63 and senior Julia Gregory crossed the line in 2:14.21.
- Sophomore Jessica Martin was the top BC finisher in the one mile run, crossing the line in 5:02.61. Freshman Anna Flynn was right behind her at 5:03.83.
- Sliney finished second overall in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:13.44. Senior Clarissa Modde and freshman Jillian Howard also finished in the top 10 at eighth and ninth respectively with times of 10:39.39 and 10:47.22.
- Sophomore Chloe Hautiere was the top BC finisher in the 5000 meter run with a time of 17:53.28.
- Barron earned a third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.96.
- The women's 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore Emma Taylor, sophomore Julia Lyons, sophomore Monica Heil and Celli took third place, crossing the line in 48.96.
- The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Leahy, sophomore Hannah McNeil, sophomore Ashlyn McKenna and junior Sierra Tonnesen finished in fifth place at 4:11.09.
- In the field events, Gothers took fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.60 meters.
- Sophomore Julia Lyons finished in sixth place in the long jump with a jump of 5.61 meters.
- Sophomore Amanda Sinkewicz took sixth in the discus throw with a mark of 37.86 meters. Sinkewicz won the javelin throw with a throw of 39.86 meters.
