Varsity Four Earns ACC Crew of the Week Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College first varsity four crew team earned Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. The Eagles shared the honor with North Carolina's third varsity eight team.

The Eagles defeated St. Joseph's and Temple on Saturday on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia and then took a second-place finish in the Cooper Sprints in Cherry Hill, N.J., on Sunday. They posted a time of 7:24.1 in besting St. Joseph's and 7:16.8 in defeating Temple. They came back facing tougher weather conditions to finish second in the Cooper Sprints on Sunday with a time of 8:36.36 to defeat Navy and Massachusetts.

The BC First Varsity Four is composed of freshman coxswain Shannon-Nicole LoStracco, junior stroke Jamie Bange, sophomore three-seat India Jennings, junior two-seat Jessica Zettlemoyer and sophomore bow Madeline Carlton.

BC competes on Saturday, March 31 on the Charles River against MIT at the MIT-BC Cup. BU's lightweights will also compete against the two Boston squads.
