Eagles Improve to 11-2 With 99-68 win over Dartmouth

Boston College will open up ACC action on Thursday, Jan. 3 as the Eagles will host Georgia Tech at Conte Forum on Thursday night.

Six players scored in double-figures all led by junior Emma Guy with 23 points on 11-for-14 shooting from the floor. Junior Georgia Pineau filled the stat line as she finished with her second double-double of the season with 10 points, 12 rebounds plus five assists.

Freshman Makayla Dickens matched her career-high in points (19) and rebounds (8), while fellow first-year guard Marnelle Garraud tallied 11 points, eight rebounds and career-highs in both assists (7) and steals (5).

Junior Taylor Ortlepp added 14 points and five assists with two teals while sophomore Sydney Lowery pitched in with 14 points.

After a 21-21 first quarter, Boston College had a 13-0 run in the middle of the second quarter which pushed the lead to 10 points, 40-30. Ortlepp had six points in the run, while Sydney Lowery capped off the run with a three-pointer from a great look from Pineau. BC held Dartmouth scoreless for just over six minutes and ran of 22 consecutive straight points to take a 49-35 lead at the half.

The Eagles opened the second half with a steal by Garraud, who hit Ortlepp for fast break layup. BC's lead grew to 20 points with 4:35 to play on a layup by Guy, 63-43. Dicken's finished the quarter with seven points and Guy had six as BC took a 73-52 lead into the final quarter.

A three by Dickens followed by a great move to the basket by Sydney Lowery pushed the Eagles lead to 26 points in the first minute of play in the fourth quarter. Dartmouth could not stop the Eagles offense as freshman Lana Hollingsworth came off the bench to can two threes' in the final two minutes of action.

- The Eagles matched a season-high of 24 assists. It marks the third time this season BC had 24 team assists and fifth time the Eagles had 20 or more helpers.
- BC shot 51.4 percent from the floor. It is the fourth game BC has shot over 50 percent from the floor.
- Junior Georgia Pineau notched her second double-double this season (10 points, 12 rebounds). She had a career-high eight offensive rebounds.
- Freshman Marnelle Garraud had five steals along with seven assists. Both are career-highs.
- With 99 points scored, BC has now scored 80 or more points in six games this season. The season-high was 112 points in a win over Rider on Nov. 25.
