Boston College and Boise State play to no contest.
DALLAS, Texas -- The SERVPRO First Responder Bowl between Boston College and No. 23 Boise State was canceled due to thunderstorms in the area of the Cotton Bowl. The game kicked off at 12:30 p.m. local time and entered a lightning delay at 1 p.m. After a one-hour and 20-minute delay, bowl officials called off the game due to severe weather.
Despite BC leading 7-0 through nearly 10 minutes of play, the game is officially a no contest and statistics do not count. AJ Dillon scored on the Eagles' first possession; a 19-yard touchdown run. He had 33 yards on six carries before the game abruptly ended with 5:08 left on the clock in the first quarter. Anthony Brown was 4-for-6 passing for 54 yards, while Kobay White made two catches for 35 yards.
Boston College ends the season at 7-5 overall after making its third consecutive bowl game and fifth in six years under head coach Steve Addazio. The Eagles remain 14-12 all-time in their bowl history.
