BOSTON COLLEGE VS. DEPAUL - ALL-TIME SERIES
- Today's marks the third all-time meeting between the two teams.
- The all-time series is tied at 1-1.
- DePaul captured the first meeting, 88-55, on Jan. 14, 1950 in Boston.
- BC won the last matchup - 82-75 - on March 14, 1982 in Dallas.
- It was a second round game in the NCAA Midwest Regional.
- John Bagley led BC with 26 points while Michael Adams added 21.
- Terry Cummings had 20 points and 17 boards for the Blue Demons.
BOSTON COLLEGE VERSUS THE BIG EAST
- Since 2005-06, Boston College is 7-6 versus Big East opponents.
- On Dec. 4, the Eagles lost, 100-95, in overtime to Providence.
- From 1979-2005, BC went 181-221 in Big East conference play.
- The Eagles were Big East Champions in 1997 and 2001.
KY BOWMAN:Â THE NATION'S MOST DYNAMIC GUARD
- Ky Bowman is the only player in the country averaging at least: 19.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.8 steals per game.
- In 2017-18, Bowman was the only player in the country to average at least 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists per game.
- Since the 1990-91 season, only 10 players have registered at least those season averages.
- One of those players was National Player of the Year - Denzel Valentine of Michigan State in 2016.
- Three were top three NBA Draft picks: Ben Simmons, LSU (#1, 2016); Evan Turner, Ohio State (#2, 2010); and Penny Hardaway, Memphis (#3, 1993).
- Five were first round NBA Draft picks: Simmons; Turner; Hardaway; Valentine (#14, 2016); Bob Sura, FSU (#17, 1995).
- Seven were named their conference's Player of the Year: Valentine (2015-16); Hardaway (1991-92); Turner (2009-10); Trenton Hassell, Austin Peay (1999-2000); Ricky Minard, Morehead State (2002-03); T.J. Cline, Richmond (2016-17); Patrick Cole N.C. Central (2016-17).
- Nine of the 10 earned Associated Press All-American honors.
WYNSTON TABBS: ADDING ANOTHER DYNAMIC TO BOSTON COLLEGE BACKCOURT
- Wynston Tabbs is the only freshman nationally to average 15.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.1 steals/game.
- The Suitland, Md. native ranks fourth in the ACC and 19th nationally among all freshmen in scoring.
- His 28 points against Sacred Heart on Nov. 29 ties for the 30th-best single-game scoring game by a frosh this season.
- The last BC freshman to average better than 15.8 ppg through his first nine collegiate games: Craig Smith (20.5 ppg, 2002-03).
WYNSTON TABBS WINS ALL OF THE WEEKLY ROOKIE AWARDS
- Wynston Tabbs earned three major weekly awards after an outstanding two-game stretch for Boston College.
- On Dec. 17, Tabbs earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors - the first BC player to do so since Ky Bowman (Jan. 3, 2017).
- The next day, CBS Sports and the USBWA named him the Wayman Tisdale National Freshman of the Week.
- Tabbs was also selected as the National Jesuit Basketball Player of the Week on Wednesday.
- The Suitland, Md. averaged 19.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in a 2-0 week for Boston College from Dec. 10-16.
TODAY'S BOSTON COLLEGE NOTE(S) YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT
- Wynston Tabbs has scored in double figures on eight occasions. He has had at least 15 points in all eight of those games.
- Through his first four games, Jairus Hamilton was averaging 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 29.4%.
- Over his last six games, the freshman forward is averaging 8.0 points and 5.3 boards while shooting 51.4%.
- Today's game marks the first time in a decade that BC has played more than one Big East team in the regular season.
- In 2008-09, the Eagles played St. John's in the NIT Season Tipoff, in addition to their long-time series with Providence.
- BC has been without at least one starter in each of its last three games and in four of its last seven.

JARED HAMILTON ELIGIBLE TO PLAY VERSUS DEPAUL
- Junior guard Jared Hamilton is eligible to play in today's game at DePaul after sitting out due to NCAA transfer regulations.
- The 6-4, 190 lb. guard transferred to BC from Georgia Southern last year during the mid-semester break.
- He played eight games during the 2017-18 season at Georgia Southern, averaging 6.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.
- Hamilton began his college career at Jacksonville State in 2015-16, averaging 9.0 points and 4.9 rebounds in 30 starts.
- At JSU, he was a three-time Ohio Valley Rookie of the Week and was the conference's fifth-leading freshman scorer.
- A native of Charlotte, N.C., he is the older brother of Eagles freshman Jairus Hamilton.
- The Hamiltons are one of six pairs of brothers at the Division I level to play on the same team. (h/t Scott Kuykendall).
FOR THE ANALYTICS CROWD
- So far this season, Boston College has had three single-game efficiency ratings of 30 or more.
- Efficiency rating is calculated using the following formula: (PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK - Missed Shots - TO)
- Versus Columbia, both Nik Popovic (32) and Ky Bowman (30) recorded at least a mark of 30.
- Wynston Tabbs holds the season-high, with an EFF rating of 38 against Sacred Heart on Nov. 29.
MEN'S BASKETBALL LAUNCHES THE MANDARIN MINUTE
- Boston College men's basketball is proud to introduce a new video series called "The Mandarin Minute."
- Hosted by manager Siqi Wang and guard Jordan Chatman, the Mandarin Minute provides the latest Boston College men's basketball news in the most widely spoken dialect in China. Wang is a communications major and native of Shanghai.
- Chatman learned Mandarin as part of his two-year mission in Taiwan with the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints. It is the language he primarily speaks at home with his wife Chelsea. Â
- Chatman: "It's always special anytime I have the opportunity to speak the Mandarin language knowing the struggles it took to learn it. This is a fun opportunity for me to share BC basketball with my Mandarin-speaking friends in Asia, the U.S., and many others."
- Enrollment of Chinese students at Boston College currently stands at 469 undergraduates and 927 total, including graduate programs. Chinese students make up close to 50% of BC's total international student population.
CHRIS HERREN JR. AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP
- Following the Eagles' practice on Thursday, Dec. 20, head coach Jim Christian freshman Chris Herren Jr. a full scholarship.
- Jim Christian on Herren Jr.: "I was happy to award Chris a scholarship because he has proven to be a high-caliber young man who fits the culture of our program to a tee. It has as much the do with way he carries himself off the court as the way he has played on the court. I am so proud of him."
- Herren Jr., who enrolled at Boston College in July, had previously been classified a walk-on.
- Through 10 games this season (two starts), Herren Jr. is averaging 5.0 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.
- The Portsmouth, R.I. native scored a season-high 22 points (8-13 FG; 4-7 3FG) against Fairfield on Dec. 16.
BACK-TO-BACK DOUBLE DOUBLE-DOUBLES
- Nik Popovic and Ky Bowman have each registered double-doubles in the same game on back-to-back occasions.
- Against Columbia, Popovic and Bowman became the first BC pair to tally a double-double in the same game in 12 years.
- Popovic registered career-highs in points (22) and rebounds (14), while Bowman added 24 points and 10 boards.
- Versus Fairfield on Dec. 16, Bowman had 19 points and 12 boards, while Popovic added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
- On Dec. 28, 2006, Sean Marshall (30p/10r) and Sean Williams (19p/10r) had double-doubles for BC vs. Duquesne.
