Eagles host Terriers at 4 p.m. on Sunday
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – No matter what sport, if you attend BC or BU, there is a built in rivalry. On Sunday, Boston College women's basketball will host the Terriers, in the "Battle of Commonwealth Ave." at Conte Forum (4 p.m.).
The two teams are led by first year coaches as head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee has the Eagles at 8-2 going into Sunday's game. BU is currently 4-4 under new head coach Marisa Moseley, who took over the program this season. She is a former Terrier and was an assistant at Connecticut.
BC-BU HISTORY
- This is the 25th contest between Boston College and Boston University.
- BC leads the all-time series, 13-11. The Eagles have won four out of the last five games.
- Last year the Terriers defeated BC, 65-57, despite 18 points from Sydney Lowery. Prior to last year's game, BC has won four consecutive games.
- The first meeting between the two teams took place on Jan. 17, 1978.
- The two teams have four common opponents this season – Holy Cross, Dartmouth, Loyola and Bryant. BC has defeated Holy Cross, Bryant and Loyola and will host Dartmouth on Dec. 29. BU has defeated Bryant and Dartmouth and will play Holy Cross and Loyola once Patriot League play begins.
- BU is coming off a 66-55 loss at UMass Amherst. Naiyah Thompson led the Terriers with 15 points and six boards. It was the fourth straight road loss for BU.

- In 2006, former Eagles center Kathrin Ress scored her 1,000th career points on Dec. 17 vs. Maine. Ress is currently playing for DIKE Napoli in Italy's Serie A1 Division.
