Eagles Roar Back to Force 2-2 Tie with New Hampshire

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College battled back from 2-0 down in the third period to earn a Hockey East point after a 2-2 tie with New Hampshire on Friday night at Kelley Rink. The Eagles extended their unbeaten streak to four overall (3-0-1) and to 12 in the series against UNH (9-0-3).
Jack McBain's first career goal on a tip-in early in the third period brought BC back to within one, and David Cotton's sixth goal in his last four games knotted it up with 6:45 remaining in regulation.
Boston College (3-5-1, 3-1-1 HEA) out-shot the Wildcats 3-1 in overtime and had the best chance when Graham McPhee's back door saucer pass barely missed a pinching Connor Moore. Casey Fitzgerald also had a look from the right wing in the closing seconds that was gloved away by Mike Robinson (33 saves).
Cotton extended his career-high goal streak to four straight games, while his linemates Julius Mattila (3-4-7) and Logan Hutsko (1-7-8) each extended their point streaks to five. The trio has now combined for 22 points during the team's four-game unbeaten run.
Joseph Woll posted 29 saves, including two point-blank stops in the second period near his crease and a key glove save with 0.4 seconds left in the third period to send the game to overtime.
New Hampshire (1-5-3, 1-2-2 HEA) received goals from Jackson Pierson midway through the first period and Ara Nazarian late in the second to hold the lead after 40 minutes.
The teams combined to take just three penalties in the 153rd meeting of series history. BC has killed off 18 of the 19 power plays it has faced over the last four contests.

17:09 2nd, UNH Goal (0-2) | Anthony Wyse gained the BC offensive line and cut into the high slot as his wrist shot was stopped by Woll, but Ara Nazarian located the rebound in traffic and flipped a backhand into the open net from the right doorstep
2:19 3rd, BC Goal (1-2) | Christopher Brown pulled up along the left wing half boards and fed a pass to the center point for Michael Kim to step into a one-timer, which was tipped in by McBain to beat Robinson low
13:15 3rd, BC Goal (2-2) | Mattila retrieved Cotton's cross-corner dump in and sent a backhand pass behind the net for Hutsko, who quickly turned to find Cotton at the back door for a short side one-timer
