BC and Bentley Face Off for First Time on Black Friday

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College faces Bentley in men's hockey for the first time in series history when the teams match up at Kelley Rink on Black Friday (Nov. 23) at 3 p.m. All the action will air live on ESPN3 and WEEI 850 AM. BC currently owns the sixth-longest unbeaten streak in the nation and the second-longest in Hockey East at 3-0-1. The Eagles are 46-4-0 all-time against teams from Atlantic Hockey.
INSIDE THE UNBEATEN STREAK
• During its four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1), Boston College has out-scored its opponents 13-6 and has only allowed one goal in the third period
• Only five teams currently have longer unbeaten streaks across Division I, and only UMass has a more impressive run among Hockey East schools with a program record seven-game winning streak
• The BC penalty kill is 18-for-19 during the streak and ranks 10th in the nation overall at 86.8%
• The Eagles are averaging 34.5 shots per game and have out-shot their opponents by 22
• Joseph Woll owns a 1.30 goals against average and a .956 save percentage in his three starts
• As a team, Boston College leads the league with a 1.60 GAA in conference play
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
• Bentley has played all but two of its games this season in conference play, losing both of its non-league games at home to Hockey East opponents Merrimack (1-0) and UMass Lowell (4-2) in October
• Coming off a 30-point rookie season, sophomore Luke Santerno leads the team with 10 assists and 13 points, while senior Drew Callin has scored a team-best five goals
• Junior Aidan Pelino has started 11 games in net and carries a 2-7-1 record, 3.30 goals against average and .880 save percentage
• Bentley is clicking at 17% on the power play thus far and 78.2% on the penalty kill
• Former Falcon Ryan Soderquist '00 is in his 17th season as head coach at Bentley with 216 career victories at the school
• Last year, the Falcons finished the season 13-18-6 and dropped a tight three-game series at Robert Morris in the Atlantic Hockey First Round
• Bentley beat UMass Lowell and tied Northeastern last season
WE'RE THE THREE BEST FRIENDS
• The Eagles' red-hot top line of David Cotton, Julius Mattila and Logan Hutsko has combined for nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points as well as 49 shots on goal during BC's recent unbeaten streak
• All three forwards have a plus-6 rating during the three-game stretch
• Hutsko (1-7-8) and Mattila (3-3-6) are both riding five-game point streaks, while Cotton has put together a career-best four-game goal streak (6-3-9), two of which were game-winners
• Hutsko's five-game point streak has tied his career-high for the third time as only a sophomore
• The trio has accounted for nine of the team's 13 goals and more than 60% of BC's offense during the streak
BOLD STRATEGY COTTON
• With nine goals in nine games this season, Cotton is tied for the national lead in goals per game with Princeton's Ryan Kuffner, who has seven goals in seven contests
• The junior's team-high 13 points this season have come in just five contests
• The Texan has six goals and nine points in his last four games during a career-high goal scoring streak
• He and Cal Burke of Notre Dame are the only two players in the nation with a pair of four-point games
• Cotton leads the country in second period goals (5) and is fourth in points (7) during the middle frame
• The winger sits second in Hockey East in points per game and ranks fifth in shots on goal per game (3.78)
• His first career multi-goal game was a hat trick Oct. 13 at Wisconsin, one of his three multi-goal games this year

• With his assist on the game-tying goal last Friday against UNH, Julius Mattila collected his 50th career point
• Mattila has a five-game point streak and had a three-game goal scoring streak snapped in the UNH game
• The Finnish junior has 24 goals and 26 assists in his NCAA career heading into his 75th collegiate game
• He ranks third on the team with seven points, all of which have come in the last five contests
