No. 6 BC Heads To First-Time Opponent Holy Cross

The Crusaders are in their first season of Hockey East, Division I play.
Boston College (5-2-0, 2-0-0 HEA) is coming off a two-win conference weekend after topping Merrimack and Vermont at Kelley Rink last weekend. Three different players scored in both the 3-1 win over the Warriors and the 3-0 win over the Catamounts while Maddy McArthur made 48 saves on 49 shots across the two games, earning her first career shutout with a 25-save day against UVM.Â
Holy Cross (0-5-2, 0-2-0 HEA) is in search of its first win of the 2018-19 season. After dropping the season opener at RIT, Holy Cross responded with back-to-back ties against RIT and then at RPI. The Crusaders have dropped two conference games, falling on the road at Providence and UConn. This is the first season in both Hockey East and Division I competition for the Crusaders.Â
Boston College will make the trip north to Maine on Sunday to take on the Black Bears in a second consecutive Hockey East road tilt.

• The Eagles dropped the first two contests of the season – a pair of road games at then No. 9 Minnesota Duluth – but enter Friday's contest riding a five-game unbeaten streak.

• Makenna Newkirk is seventh in the conference in faceoff wins with 55 ... freshman Kelly Browne is second amongst Hockey East rookies in faceoff wins with 50.
• Daryl Watts is averaging 5.29 shots on goal per game, which is fourth overall in Hockey East.
• Cayla Barnes leads BC with 15 blocks, which also ties her for third in Hockey East.
HOME SWEET HOME
• Boston College reeled off five straight wins during its five-game homestand Oct. 6-20.
• It marked the fifth consecutive unbeaten start through the first five home games of a season for the Eagles.
• BC is the only team in the nation that has started each of the last five season unbeaten in its first five games of the season.
SENIORS HIT THE CENTURY MARK
• With BC's 2-1 overtime win over St. Lawrence on Oct. 11, seniors Grace Bizal, Makenna Newkirk, Ryan Little, Serena Sommerfield and Molly Slowe earned their 100th career victory as Eagles.
• The two other members of the Class of 2019 - Megan Keller and Kali Flanagan - hit the century mark during the 2016-17 season.
