COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four current Boston College women's hockey players along with Emily Pfalzer '15 have been called into the U.S. Women's National Team for the 2018 Four Nations Cup, which will be played Nov. 6-10 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Cayla Barnes, Kali Flanagan, Megan Keller and Caitrin Lonergan are four of the 11 current collegians named to the 23-player roster. The Eagles are the only representatives from Hockey East.
The roster was chosen from the 37 players invited to the USA Hockey National Women's Team Evaluation Camp that took place in September. A pre-tournament camp will be held in Chicago from Oct. 28-Nov. 3 before the team departs for Saskatchewan.
Barnes, Flanagan, Keller and Pfalzer were a part of the gold-medal winning U.S. National team at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang. Additionally, Barnes, Flanagan, Keller and Lonergan attended the USA Hockey Women's National Festival in August, with Lonergan and Barnes earning spots on the Under-22 Women's Select Team that battled Canada's National Women's Development Team in a three-game series. Lonergan will be making her senior national team debut.
Last year, Team USA won its third-straight Four Nations title, topping Canada, 5-1, in the title game. The U.S. has captured the title eight times (1997, 2003, 2008, 2011-12, 2015-17), finished second 12 times and took third in the 2013 tournament.
