ABOUT THE TEAMÂ
- No. 11 Boston College is currently 13-1-1 overall and is currently tied for second in the ACC with No. 11/11 Duke with 16 points. No. 3 UNC is the top spot with a 12-2--1 and 7-0-0 with 21 points.
- Today's game is the second game of a three-game road swing for Boston College. The Eagles opened it up against Miami on Saturday (T, 1-1 OT). The final game of the swing will be at No. 10 Duke on Sunday Oct. 21 on ESPNU.Â
- The Eagles will wrap up regular season action at home as they host Pittsburgh on Oct. 25 at 7.
- Boston College is currently No. 11 in US Coaches Poll, remained at No. 8 in the Soccer America poll and stands at No. 14 in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll.Â
- The Eagles RPI is at 16. Seven ACC teams have a Top 25 RPI.
- The Eagles set a new program record by opening up the 2018 season at 10-0. It stands as the best start in program history. Prior to this season, BC's best start out of the gates was 9-0-0 in 2006. In 2016, BC opened up with a 9-0-1 record. Since Coach Foley's arrival in 1997, this is the best start for the program.
- The Eagles are on a four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1). After losing at Wake Forest on Sept. 27, BC defeated Clemson on the road (2-1), Virginia Tech (3-0) at home and NC State (2-0) on Sunday at home. The only blemish is the tie (1-1 OT) at Miami on Oct. 13.
- Boston College has out-scored opponents, 35-8, and have a 225-122 edge on total shots.
- BC is currently 18th in the nation and third in the ACC in Goals-Against Average and 16th and first in the ACC in shutout percentage (0.600). The team is 36th in nation and first in the ACC in save percentage.
- The Eagles are 31st in the nation and fourth in the conference in total points (94) as well as 18th in the nation and second in the ACC in total goals (35).
- Sophomore Sam Coffey is first in the ACC in goals (10), assists (11) and points (31). The second-year midfielder was named National Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week on Oct. 9. She was also Eagle of the Week. Coffey is also fifth in the country in total points, 27th in goals scored and first in assists.
- The No. 8/7 Boston College women's soccer team held an early lead on a goal by Sam Coffey, but Miami scored late in the second half as the two teams played to a 1-1 overtime draw at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables, Florida on Saturday night.
- Sophomore Sam Coffey scored her ACC leading 10th goal of the season. The Eagles midfielder scored on a first half penalty kick in the 33rd minute.
- Graduate senior Alexis Bryant had five saves in the match. She is now 13-1-1.
- Boston College held an 18-6 edge in shots. The Eagles also had 11 corner kicks, while they held Miami to just one.
- The Eagles had four shots in overtime, while Miami had one.
- This will be the 19th meeting between BC and North Carolina.Â
- UNC leads the overall series, 17-1.Â
- The first meeting was in 1981. The two teams played in 1981, '82 and '83. After one more meeting in 1989, BC did not play UNC until 2005.
- Since joining the ACC, BC and UNC have played 14 games, nine have been one goal games.
- The Eagles lone win over the Tar Heels came in 2010, when BC stunned then No. 1 ranked UNC, 3-2, on a goal by Victoria DiMartino. The match was at Fezter Field.
- Last year, Boston College lost at home to then-No. 3 North Carolina, 4-1.

- Sophomore Sam Coffey is arguably one of the hottest player in the country. Coffey leads the ACC in scoring with 10 goal, 11 assists for 31 points.Â
- Coffey is fifth overall in the country in points (31) and first in assists (11). Her 10th goal vs. Miami made her the first player in the country to record double-digits in both categories.
- She has tallied a goal or assist in 12-of-15 games this season.
- Coffey notched her first career hat trick in a 3-0 win over Virginia Tech.
- Earlier in the year, she matched her career-high with three assists (and a goal) against Albany. Her 11 assists is tops in the country.
- She is currently on five-game point scoring streak with five goals and two assists in the run. Between Aug. 19-Sept. 1, Coffey had a five-game point scoring streak with three goals, six assists for 12 points.Â
- Graduate senior Alexis Bryant enters her fourth season as the goalkeeper for the Eagles. She is currently 13-1-1, has a career-low 0.54 GAA and allowed just eight goals.Â
- Bryant was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 9) after helping BC grab two ACC wins to improve to 13-1-0.Â
- Over the four seasons, Bryant has slowly moved up in the program's records. With her single season career-high eight shutouts, Bryant now has 21, which is tied for the third best on the all-time list.
- She has 225 career saves which is fourth on the all-time list. Bryant is also fourth on the all-time win list with 38 victories.Â
- Nationally, Bryant has made a mark. She is currently 20th in the country and fourth in the ACC in GAA (0.54), 47th in the country and second in the ACC in save percentage (0.837) and ninth in the country and first in the ACC in shutouts (8).Â
- Boston College will travel to Durham to play No. 11 Duke on Sunday at 1 on ESPNU.
