BOSTON COLLEGE VS. VIRGINIA TECH - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's game marks the 30th meeting between the two schools.
Boston College is 18-11 all-time vs. Virginia Tech.
In ACC play, the Eagles are 12-9 versus the Hokies.
BC is 11-3 all-time at home (Conte Forum) against Virginia Tech.
From 2000-04, both teams were members of the Big East.
Boston College was 6-1 against Virginia Tech in Big East play.
The Hokies have won the last three matchups vs. the Eagles, including last year's season series.
BC's last win over VT was on March 2, 2015 at Cassell Coliseum.

BOSTON COLLEGE IN ACC PLAY

Boston College is 73-137 (.349) in 12 seasons in the ACC.
The Eagles began ACC play with an 89-84 win over top-ranked Duke.
Last season, the Eagles finished with a 2-16 mark in league play.
The Eagles' best ACC mark came in its inaugural season, going 11-5 in conference play in 2005-06 en route to a third place finish.
BC finished tied for third in 2006-07 (10-6) and fourth in 2010-11 (9-7).

In conference play, Jerome Robinson is first in the ACC in scoring.
Robinson is averaging 22.5 points per game in eight ACC contests.
He scored 20 or more points in five ACC games, including a season-high 29 points at Virginia. The 6-5 guard had 21 last time out at Syracuse.
The junior guard has had 19 points in seven of his eight ACC contests, including 24 points against top-ranked Duke.
His overall FG percentage (55.8%) and 3-point FG% (48.9%) in ACC play, ranks fifth and second, respectively.

Ky Bowman: THE MOST CONSISTENT PLAYER IN THE COUNTRY

Ky Bowman is the only player in the country to average at least 16.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game.
Bowman's 6.9 boards per game average is the best nationally among players that are 6-1 or under.
The last player 6-1 or shorter to average at least 6.9 rpg for a season was Jeff Early of Southern Illinois (7.2) in 2012-13.
Bowman is also the only player in the ACC to rank among the top 10 in scoring and assists and top 15 in rebounding.
He ranks sixth in the ACC in scoring, 14th in rebounding, and is fifth in assists.
Prior to the Dec. 30 game at Virginia, he was the only player in the nation to have at least 10 pts/3 reb/3 asst in every game.

THE NEW BIG THREE: PLAYING THE PERCENTAGES

Through the first seven games of the season (prior to the Nebraska game), Ky Bowman accounted for 19.9% of the offense and Jerome Robinson (19.1%), Deontae Hawkins (17.5) and Jordan Chatman (13.1) accounted for 70.0% of the BC scoring.
Since the Hartford game, Robinson (27.1), Bowman (23.3), and Chatman (20.0) account for 70.4% of the offensive output.

Jordan Chatman - PATTERN OF IMPROVEMENT

Jordan Chatman is making his case for the ACC's Most Improved Player.
He is averaging close to 5.0 points per game more than last season.
Chatman's FG and 3FG percentages are both up from a season ago.
The junior guard is averaging 1.4 more field goals made per game this season, including close to 1.0 3-pointers made per game.
He leads the team lead with 52 3FG and is third in scoring at 13.3 ppg.

TIME TO START TALKING ABOUT Steffon Mitchell FOR ACC ALL-ROOKIE TEAM

Steffon Mitchell is making his case to earn a spot on the ACC's All-Rookie team.
Prior to missing much of the Jan. 24 game at Syracuse (concussion protocol), he was the only ACC freshman to average at least 7.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game.
In ACC play (minus the Syracuse game), he checked in at 8.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.7 blocks, and 1.0 steals.
Overall, Mitchell ranks ninth in the ACC (all games) in rebounding - and fourth among all ACC freshmen.
Since entering the starting lineup for BC at Nebraska on Nov. 29, he is pulling down 8.2 rebounds per game (14 games).
The Shakopee, Minn. native has registered 10 or more rebounds in a game on six occasions, including three double-doubles.
He is poised to become the sixth Boston College freshman to lead the team in rebounds/game since 1972-73.

TODAY'S BOSTON COLLEGE NOTE(S) YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT

Jerome Robinson has scored in double figures in 18 consecutive games, dating back to the Texas Tech game on Nov. 18.
It is the longest streak by a BC player since Olivier Hanlan (43) between the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.
Jordan Chatman fouled out of his first career game on Jan. 24 at Syracuse.
Chatman had never previously been disqualified at the college, high school, AAU, YMCA, or Church League levels.
The Eagles have won 12 or more games at Conte Forum in a single-season on 12 occasions.

Over his last four games, Nik Popovic is averaging 11.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.
He was a perfect 6-for-6 from the floor vs. Dartmouth, scoring 14 points while grabbing eight rebounds.
The sophomore blocked five shots vs. Florida State to go with 14 points, five boards, and three assists.
Popovic added 12 points, nine boards, and two assists at Louisville and dished out four assists at Syracuse last time out.
