CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomore Emma Guy notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds but the Boston College women's basketball team lost to No. 18 Duke, 75-50, on Thursday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium in an ACC match up.

Boston College is now 6-14 overall and 1-6 in the ACC. The Eagles will host Syracuse on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Orange defeated Clemson, 86-51, tonight.

Duke is now 16-5 overall and 5-3 in the ACC. The Blue Devils will travel to play at Pittsburg on Sunday at 1.

 The Eagles opened up shooting 5-for-8 from the floor and took an 11-5 lead before Duke called a timeout. The Blue Devils then went on a 19-3 run in the final five minutes to pull away and take a 24-14 lead after the first quarter. It was an uphill battle from there for the young Eagles.

- Sophomore Emma Guy notched her fourth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow second-year player Taylor Ortlepp chipped in with 11 points.
- Sophomore forward Georgia Pineau had eight points and eight rebounds along with five assists. .

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College opened up the game shooting 63 percent from the floor and held an 11-8 lead before the first timeout. Duke responded after the break with a 19-3 run in the final 5:24 to pull ahead, 24-14, after the first quarter. Â
- The Eagles continued to battle as but turnovers continued to hurt BC. BC had 13 turnovers at the half which resulted in 13 first half points.
- BC was led by Andie Anastos at the half with seven points, while sophomore guard Taylor Ortlepp pitched in with six and sophomore forward Emma Guy had six points and a team-high five boards.
- Emma Guy continued to work hard in the key as she scored six of the Eagles 14 points in the third quarter. BC shot 40 percent from the floor in the quarter but six more turnovers halted any comeback attempt as the Eagles were down, 62-37, after three.
- The first five minutes of the quarter, Duke outscored BC, 6-5, despite Georgia Pineau scoring on a nice give-and-go with senior Katie Quandt to open the scoring.

- Boston College shot 46.2 percent in the first quarter but the percentage fell to 27.3 in the second quarter. BC shot 39.2 percent in the game while Duke shot 45.2 percent.
- BC lost the battle of the boards, 39-32, despite the 10 boards from Emma Guy.Â
- The Eagles did score 14 points off of 12 Duke turnovers.
- Senior Rachel Gartner played a season-high 18 minutes and scored five points with two assists.
