Burke Takes Fourth at Chile Pepper Festival

The Eagles finished in seventh place overall.
FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – The Boston College men's cross country team finished in seventh place with 193 points out of 11 teams at the Chile Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. on Saturday morning.

Junior Sean Burke led the Eagles with a fourth place finish in the 10K in a field of 89 runners. He crossed the line in 30:19.1.

The Eagles had a total time of 2:40:25 and averaged 32:05.12 in the 10K race.

BC Highlights
- Burke was the first Eagle to cross the line, completing the race in 30:19.1. He averaged a 4:55 mile throughout the course of the race. He finished in fourth place overall.
- Junior Benjamin Osipow was the second Eagle to cross the line, completing the course in 32:24.9 for 44thth place overall. He was followed close behind by senior Brian McDavitt (32:30.5) and junior Jack Morris (32:34.0), who finished in 46th and 50th place, respectively.                                                                            Â
- Sophomore Zachary Beston rounded out the top five scorers for the Eagles, crossing the line in 52nd place with a time of 32:37.1.
- Freshman Kyle Faddis competed in his first collegiate 10K and crossed the line in 32:45.1, taking 54th place.
- Arkansas took first place overall with a team score of 23 points.
- Senior Alex George from Arkansas was the individual top finisher with a time of 29:45.4.
