Kent, Cortez Nominated for Globie Awards

Standout hockey/lacrosse and softball players up for the annual awards
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Former softball player Tatiana Cortez '17 and current two-sport star Kenzie Kent '18 (ice hockey and lacrosse) are among the nominees for 2017 Globie Awards.

The Globies celebrate the dynamic New England sports scene and honors the athletes, teams and individuals that fuel the area's passion for sports on and off field. The third annual event will take place on Tuesday, December 5, at House of Blues Boston.

Both Cortez and Kent are among the nominees for Best Female Athlete, while Kent is also up for Top College Athlete.

Other nominees for Best Female Athlete include Harvard fencer Adrienne Jarocki and Merrimack track and field athlete Carly Muscaro.

Kent is the only female nominated for Top College Athlete. The other nominees include former Northeastern men's hockey player Zach Aston-Reese, former Union hockey player Mike Vecchione, former UMass Lowell hockey player Joe Gambardella and former Northeastern men's basketball player T.J. Williams.
