The Eagles continue to play baseball across the country as summer winds down
Many members of the Boston College baseball team still playing baseball across the country as summer winds down. Here is an update on how the Eagles are faring.Â
Dante Baldelli (So., OF) - New Bedford Bay Sox, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Baldelli tallied 18 hits, including four doubles, six RBIs, 15 walks and four stolen bases with the Bay Sox. New Bedford finished the season 17-27.
Austin Batchelor (So., RHP) - North Shore Navigators, Futures Collegiate Baseball League
Batchelor has made six appearances for the Navigators, throwing a total of five relief innings. He has struck out three, allowed seven hits and recorded one save. The Navs are 20-29 on the season.
Mitch Bigras (Sr., 1B/LHP) - Kalamazoo Growlers, Northwoods League
Bigras is batting .318 in 22 games for the Growlers. He has recorded 21 hits, including five doubles, seven RBIs, 16 walks and one stolen base after joining the team. The lefty has also made five appearances on the hill, striking out seven, walking just two and recording a 3.85 ERA. Kalamazoo is 18-40 on the season.
Jack Cunningham (So., UT/RHP) - Baltimore Redbirds, Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League
Cunningham batted .296 for the Redbirds, including .318 during the regular season. He logged 37 hits, including seven doubles and two home runs, 15 RBIs, 14 walks and stole 12 bases. Baltimore lost the Cal Ripken League championship series, 2-1. Cunningham  logged two hits, two runs, two RBIs, seven walks and one stolen base in the playoffs. The righty also made six appearances on the mound over the summer. He was 1-0 with a save. In the playoffs, he threw two innings, struck out two and walked one without allowing a hit or run.
Carmen Giampetruzzi (Sr., LHP) - Edenton Steamers, Coastal Plain League
Giampetruzzi has recorded a 4.26 ERA with a 3-3 record. His seven saves leads the Coastal Plain League. In 25.1 innings, the left-hander has allowed 19 hits, 12 earned runs, 15 walks and has struck out 37. Opponents are batting just .194 against him. Giampetruzzi leads the league with 14 games finished and his 21 appearances is third. The Steamers are 27-22 on the summer.
Matt Gill (So, RHP) - Keene Swamp Bats, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Gill has made 11 appearances for the Swamp Bats with 22 strikeouts, 10 walks and 25 hits. Keene is 19-24 and sits in third place in the Northern Division of the NECBL.
Mikey Giordano (So., RHP) - Sanford River Rats, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Giordano has made 10 appearances for the River Rats with one start. He has thrown 11.2 innings, allowing 11 hits and seven strikeouts. Sanford is 30-12 and in first place as the playoffs start on Aug. 1.Â
Jake Goodreau (So., C) - Purcellville Cannons, Valley Baseball League
Goodreau has logged eight hits, three RBIs and eight walks for the Cannons. He drew a walk in the Valley Baseball League's walk-off win over the Ripken Collegiate League in the Southern Collegiate Showcase. The Cannons are 26-16 on the year and currently 1-1 in the VBL playoffs. Goodreau has logged four at bats in postseason baseball.
Sean Hughes (Jr., RHP) -Â Edenton Steamers, Coastal Plain League
Hughes has a 4.24 ERA over 18 appearances, third-most on the Steamers. He has been part of two combined shutouts, has allowed just five hits over 17.0 innings and struck out 24. The Steamers are 27-22 on the summer.
Thomas Lane (Jr., RHP) - Amsterdam Mohawks, Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League
Lane is 3-2 with a 2.30 for the Mohawks. He has made nine starts and 10 total appearances this summer, striking out 48 with 32 walks and 30 hits over 43.0 innings. He also threw a perfect inning of relief in the PGCBL Prospect Showcase. The Mohawks are 36-12, the best record in the league, and have one the last six games in a row. The playoffs start on Aug. 1.
Gian Martellini (Jr., C) - Cotuit Kettlers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Martellini has recorded 16 hits, including three doubles and three home run, 11 runs, and six walks. His 14 RBIs are seventh in the league in his first summer on the Cape. He blasted a two-run homer to give Cotuit a 2-1 victory on Saturday. The Kettlers are second in West division with a 20-20 record and have clinched a playoff birth.
Anthony Maselli (Sr., INF) -Â Edenton Steamers, Coastal Plain League
Maselli has logged 40 hits, including eight doubles and six home runs and 35 runs. He is tied for the third-most RBIs on the team with 30 and his 33 walks is second the Steamers. He is also stolen a perfect 28-for-28 on the stolen-base path, leading the Coastal Plain League. His 27 double plays turned also leads the CPL. The Steamers are 27-22 on the summer.
Dan Metzdorf (So., LHP) - Chatham Anglers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Metzdorf is 3-0 with a 1.55 ERA for the Anglers. He has made 10 appearances, all in relief, recording 14 strikeouts, 16 hits and seven walks in 17.1 innings. The lefty has not allowed an earned run in his last four appearances, striking out seven. The Anglers are 20-21 and have clinched a playoff birth.
Jack Nelson (Jr., RHP) -Â Bourne Braves, Cape Cod Baseball League
Nelson played the season with the New Bedford Bay Sox (17-27) and recorded a 2-2 record, 3.42 ERA and 26 strikeouts. He threw 42.0 innings, allowing just eight walks and 38 hits on the summer. The righty is finishing his summer on the Cape with the Bourne Braves. He has made one relief appearances so far.
Jake Palomaki (Sr., INF) -Â Chatham Anglers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Palomaki has recorded 20 hits, including three doubles and a home run, for the Anglers. He has logged 22 runs, nine RBIs, 25 walks and six stolen bases. Palomaki has played the infield, but also seen time in the outfield for the A's. His walks total is second in the league. Chatham is 20-21 and has clinched a playoff birth.
Brian Rapp (Sr., RHP) - Cotuit Kettlers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Rapp is 1-0 with a 4.23 ERA for the Kettlers. He has made seven appearances with one start, throwing 17.0 innings. He has struck out 21, allowed 13 walks and 11 hits. In his last outing on July 30, the righty threw 4.1 innings of scoreless relief, striking out six without walking a batter and allowing just two hits.  The Kettlers are second in West division with a 20-20 record and have clinched a playoff birth.
Aaron Soucy (So., C) - Wisconsin Woodchucks, Northwoods League
Soucy has tallied 20 hits, including a double and two home runs, eight runs, seven RBIs and seven walks for the Woodchucks. He has a hit in five of the last 10 games played. The Woodchucks are 23-38 on the season.Â
Jacob Stevens (Jr., RHP) -Â Chatham Anglers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Stevens has made six starts in the Cape League, recording a 5.14 ERA. He has allowed 27 hits, 14 walks and 15 Ks over 21.0 innings. On July 18, he went four innings, allowed just one unearned run, four hits and one walk while striking out four, a summer-high. Chatham is 20-21 and has clinched a playoff birth.
Brandon Stone (Fr., INF) - Del Ray Lightning, South Florida Collegiate League
Incoming freshman Stone logged 26 runs, 25 hits, including four doubles, 14 RBIs, 27 walks and eight stolen bases for the Lightning.  He earned a spot on the SFCL North Division All-Star Team. The Lightning finished the regular season in first in the North Division and lost in the final game of the SFCBL championship series.
Zach Stromberg (Jr., LHP) - Kenosha Kingfish, Northwoods League
Stromberg is 3-2 for the Kingfish with a 2.02 ERA and one save. In 12 appearances, he has struck out 35, allowed 13 walks and 33 hits over 40.0 innings. Kenosha is 33-27 overall, fourth in the South Division of the Northwoods League.
John Witkowski (Jr., RHP) - Harwich Mariners, Cape Cod Baseball League
Witkowski has appeared in 10 games with one start for the Mariners, recording a 3.00 ERA with 24 strikeouts and just six walks. He is 1-1 and has allowed 29 hits over 27.0 innings. Witkowski recorded his first Cape Cod League win on Saturday in a five-inning, scoreless relief appearance, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out four. The Mariners are 14-26 on the season.Â
Jacob Yish (So., OF) - Rome Generals, New York Collegiate Baseball League
Yish suffered an injury that ended his summer early but not before he logged a .291 batting clip with 23 hits, including two doubles and homer, 17 runs, seven RBIs and seven walks in 25 games for the Generals. Rome finished the summer 22-20 and Yish was named a NYCBL All-Star for his play in the first half of the season.Â
