Weed Wins ACC Pitcher of the Week

Senior allowed one earned run in 10.2 innings
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College senior Jordan Weed earned ACC Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Weed allowed only one earned run in four appearances and 10.2 innings last week, going 1-1 with a 0.66 ERA and only 10 hits allowed.

The Toms River, N.J., native led BC's 6-5 comeback victory Saturday against Notre Dame. Weed entered with two outs in the third inning as the Fighting Irish led, 5-1. She threw 4.1 scoreless innings as the Eagles scored five unanswered runs.

Weed ranks third in the ACC in opposing batting average (.212) and fourth in ERA (2.18).

The fourth-seeded Eagles will next face fifth-seeded Notre Dame in the ACC quarterfinals on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C.
