Cortez Earns espnW Player of the Week

Senior garners national recognition for walk-off home run
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Senior Tatiana Cortez earned national recognition for her walk-off home run, garnering espnW player of the week on Wednesday.

Cortez hit two home runs Sunday in the Back the Blue Game, which honored her father. Ronny Cortez, a 24-year veteran in the Houston Police Department who was critically injured in the line of duty Feb. 28.

BC trailed, 6-5, in the bottom of the seventh when Cortez hit a two-run, walk-off home run to clinch the 7-6 victory.

The Eagles play their final home game against Providence on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Shea Field.
