Lois Kaye Go Earns At-Large Bid In NCAA Regional

Rookie golfer will head to Lubbock, Texas for regional competition

Boston College rookie Lois Kaye Go earned an at-large bid in the 2017 NCAA Division 1 Women's Golf Regionals. Go will compete in the Lubbock Texas Regional which will take place on May 8-10 at The Rawls Course, hosted by Texas Tech.
Go is one of four ACC players to earn an at-large bid while six conference teams will compete in the regionals – Duke, FSU, NC State, Miami, Wake Forest and Clemson.
The Rawls Course is a par 72 with 10 par fours (five on each side), four par threes, four par fives and 96 bunkers. The overall yardage from the championship tees is 7,207. The NCAA Lubbock Regional will be played with a 72 par and at 6,593 yards.
The Eagle freshman is only the second women's golfer to advance to the NCAA regional. The first was Isabel Southard in 2013.
A native of the Phillipines, Go's scoring average was a team-low 72.29. She won the Dartmouth Invitational and Lady EagleCat Invitational this past season. Go opened her college career with a third place finish at the RedBird Invitational and a third at the Golfweek Program. After winning the Dartmouth Invitational, she placed fifth at Yale and second at Texas State. Â In addition to leading the team in scoring, she also led the Eagles in greens hit in regulation (70%), scrambling (53%), sand saves (55%), total putts per round (31.17) and bounce back (23%).
Go finished tied in 21st place as she shot a 74 on the final day of play at the ACC Tournament in April. She was a +2 after the first day and was even on day two of action.
The Boston College women's team had a strong season as the Eagles were ninth at the ACC Tournament. The best finish since the team joined the conference. BC also won four tournaments over the 2016-17 season – RedBird Invitational, Golfweek Program, Dartmouth and the Lady EagleCat.
