BC HIGHLIGHTS
- The Boston College women's track and field team traveled to Massachusetts on Friday to take on the host Minutemen, the Vermont Wildcats, and the Rhode Island Rams in a quad meet. The Eagles finished fourth overall, although a slew of impressive performances highlighted the day for BC.
- Senior captain Fallyn Boich and freshman Amanda Sinkewicz got the action underway for the Eagles in the javelin. Boich tossed the javelin 40.77m (139'9"), good for second place overall. Sinkewicz made her collegiate debut in the event by throwing for a distance of 37.65m (123'6"), landing her in fourth place overall.
- The Eagles' throwing duo was back out on the field for the discus competition later on in the competition. Sinkewicz notched a distance of 34.17m (112'1"), which was enough for eighth place overall. Boich was not far behind, throwing the disucus 33.68m (110'6"), which was good for ninth.
- In the high jump, sophomore Elizabeth Knoll cleared the bar at a height of 1.61m (5'3 ¼"), taking home second place for the Eagles.
- Junior Anna Atkinson wrapped up the field events for the Eagles in the long jump, grabbing an eighth place finish with her jump of 4.90m (16'1").
- On the track, the Eagles had positive results in the hurdle events. Freshman Emma Taylor (15.18), junior Julia Barron (15.31), and Atkinson took to the 100m hurdles (15.35), finishing in fifth, sixth and seventh place, respectively. Atkinson's time was a new personal best.
-In the other hurdle event, the 400m hurdles, Barron took first place overall, crossing the line in 1:03.51. Taylor clocked in with a time of 1:04.59, good for third place.
- Gabriella Candelieri made her season debut, racing in the 100m. The senior posted a time of 13.96, which was good for eighth place.
- Freshman Monica Heil returned to action in the 200m for the first time since December The rookie picked up a sixth place finish with at time of 26.29.
- Junior Molly McCabe headlined the 400m performances for the Eagles, taking second place overall with her time of 56.24, a new personal best by over a second. Other performances in the 400m included a new season best and third-place finish from junior Johanna Celli (57.47), a fourth-place, personal-best time from senior captain Claudia DiSomma (57.57) and a sixth-place, season-best mark for senior captain Robin Gross (58.99).
- Sophomore Gianna Bender and freshman Naomi Cartier made their season debuts in the 800m. Bender picked up fifth place after crossing the line in 2:17.42, while Cartier earned a seventh place finish with her time of 2:19.68.
- The junior tandem of Julia Gregory and Laura Leff represented the Eagles in the 1500m. Gregory was the third-place finisher in 4:48.00, and Leff closed in 4:51.76 to take home sixth fifth place.
- In the longer distance events, the Eagles had good results in both the 5K and the 10K. In the former event, the Eagles took home the top three places. Senior captain Catherine Maloy was victorious, finishing in 17:54.36, junior Ashbrook Gwinn was second in 17:54.76, and senior captain Amanda Rickert finished third in 18:10.96. In the latter event, senior Danna Levin notched her first collegiate win in personal-best-record-setting fashion. Levin's time of 37:54.14 was 13 seconds off from her previous best-ever mark. Junior Clarissa Modde also raced in the event, taking second in 37:58.89. The duo crossed the line just under two minutes before the third-place finisher.
- In the 4x100m relay, the Eagles' squad of Taylor, Celli, freshman Julia Lyons and Gross was the second-place finisher with a time of 49.29
- The Eagles' 4x400m relay squad closed out the meet on a high note. The team of DiSomma, Barron, Heil and McCabe was victorious with a time of 3:57.68.

UP NEXT
The Eagles head to Providence, R.I., on Saturday April 15, to compete in the Ocean State Invitational. Brown University will host the sprints, relays and field events in the morning, while the nightcap will consist of the long-distance track events hosted by Providence College. Â
