McNulty, Mukai Win Two Consolation Matches

Three pairs makes Round of 64 at Pacific Coast Doubles

LA JOLLA, Calif. – Three doubles pairings from the Boston College men's tennis team made it to the Round of 64 this weekend in the 128th annual Pacific Coast Doubles Championships.

BC's duo of senior Aidan McNulty and junior Kent Mukai also won two consolation matches. They defeated Felix Fan and Alexander Wallace of Portland 6-0 in the first consolation round. After a second-round bye, they earned an 8-6 victory over Villanova's William Elmore and Luis Miranda in round three.

Senior Hank Workman and freshman Derek Austin defeated Arthur Hernandez and Chester Hoffman – an amateur pairing from Huntington Beach, Calif. – 8-3. Then in a close second round, Oklahoma State's Tristan Meraut and Mathieu Scaglila defeated them 9-8 (4).

The Eagles resume dual play with a road match at UC Irvine on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
