ACC Releases Preseason Poll

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College softball team earned sixth place in the ACC Softball Predicted Order of Finish, as voted by the league's 11 head coaches.

The Eagles received 57 points in the poll, coming off a 30-23 season as they contended for an NCAA Tournament berth. BC finished fourth in the ACC last year with a 12-9 conference record.

Florida State, who received all 10 first-place votes in the ACC coaches' predictions, ranks fourth in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches and the ESPN.com/USA Softball polls. Notre Dame – voted third in the ACC – ranks 22nd in both national polls.

The Eagles open the season against Wichita State at 10 a.m. Friday at the Houston Hilton Plaza Invitational.
