- Following the timeout, the Eagles responded with 11 unanswered points to make it a one-point game. Chatman had eight of the points.
- Neither team led by more than five the rest of the half and BC led at the break, 40-38.
- With the game tied, 50-50, Virginia Tech scored nine-straight which ignited a 21-6 run to give the Hokies a 71-56 lead. The run lasted five minutes.
- Virginia Tech led the rest of the way= as the Hokies scored 53 second-half points.
