TURNING POINT
Drake's Nicole Newman singled up the middle in the top of the fourth, driving home Mandy Roemmich to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Weed and Newman went toe to toe on the mound to start the game. Both teams went scoreless and only recorded one hit each in the first three innings.
Drake got on the board with Newman's RBI single in the fourth.
The Bulldogs' Gabbie Jonas hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded to give Drake a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth.
Junior Chloe Sharabba reached on an error and advanced to second on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth. Cortez doubled to left, scoring Sharabba to cut Drake's lead to 2-1.
Drake's Sarah Maddox hit a home run in the top of the seventh to give the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead.
