BC HIGHLIGHTS
- With the loss, Virginia Tech snapped the Eagles' seven-game win streak in the series and marked the program's fifth win against BC.
- Held scoreless last game, senior Kate Weeks led the Eagles in scoring, tallying a hat trick in the first half and finishing the game with four goals and one assist.
- Junior Kaileen Hart had a career day for the Eagles, recording four points, including her first collegiate hat trick.
- Sophomore Lauren Daly saved a career-high nine shots in her half of play.
- The nation's leading scorer, sophomore Sam Apuzzo added two goals to her points total (26).
TURNNG POINT
- Virginia Tech scored six unanswered goals in less than seven minutes splitting the last 2:53 of the first and the first 3:34 of the second. The Hokies' run gave them their second lead of the game which was held the remainder of the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hart opened the scoring of the game, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead at 25:17.
- Virginia Tech responded with two goals in the minutes following Hart's goal to take a 2-1 lead.
- Boston College went on to score four of the next five goals as Weeks notched three goals and Apuzzo tallied her first of the day.
- In the final five minutes of the half, The Eagles and Hokies each found the back of the net twice. BC went into the half leading, 7-6.
- Out of the half, Virginia Tech outscored the Eagles 6-1 in the first 10 minutes to take a four-goal lead, 12-8.
- BC cut the lead to one, but Virginia Tech tallied two goals to keep the lead with 14:07 left to play.
- BC trailed by two goals with 8:09 left to play, but Virginia Tech added four goals to its lead to secure the victory.
