Donovan Posts An 8-1 Record At 10th Annual Beanpot Championship

MEN'S RESULTS: 1. Harvard, 3-0; Brandeis, 1-2; BC, 1-2; MIT, 1-2;
WOMEN'S RESULTS: 1. Harvard 3-0; BC 2-1; Brandeis, 1-2; MIT 0-3.

Harvard repeated as Beanpot Champion in both men's and women's fencing on Wednesday night at the Flynn Recreation Complex on the Boston College campus. Harvard defeated BC, Brandeis and MIT in the 10^th Beanpot tournament.

Brandeis, BC and MIT won one event in the men's round-robin competition while on the women's side; Harvard went 3-0 while BC was 2-1. Brandeis finished 1-2 and MIT went 0-3. The BC women gave Harvard its closest march of the night in a 16-11 battle.

Men's Recap
The men's team posted one win, over MIT, but dropped matches against Brandeis and MIT. Individual standouts were MacGregor Mooney in epee (5-4) 5-4 and sabre fencers Connor Rounds (5-3) and Rahul Tasker (5-4). Rahul's record includes a 5-4 victory over Harvard's Eli Dershwitz, who was a member of the 2016 Olympic team.

Women's Recap
BC sophomore Laura Donovan went 8-1, in the sabre event. Her only loss coming to two-time NCAA champion Adrienne Jarocki of Harvard. In the foil competition, freshman Kayla Moy went 6-3, while senior Renee Bichette went 4-2 in the epee event.
