Notre Dame Sweeps BC in ACC Opener

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men's tennis team defeated Boston College, 7-0, in the Eagles' ACC opener Saturday afternoon.

The Fighting Irish (5-2, 1-0 ACC) earned the doubles point with wins on the No. 1 and 3 courts before taking each singles match. Senior Hank Workman nearly forced a third set in second singles before Notre Dame's Eddy Covalschi took the 6-2, 7-5 victory that finished the contest.

The Eagles (1-3, 0-1) resume action Friday at 4 p.m. for a home match against Boston University at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
