Strong individual results highlighted a tough day of competition for the Eagles, with dual meets against five 2017 NCAA Championship qualifying teams. Both the men and women finished with wins against Incarnate Word after dropping matches to St. John's, Cornell, Yale, and UNC.
The day's top performers were Laura Donovan in women's sabre, who went 9-5 -- including a 3-0 run against Cornell -- and men's foilist Cam Mayer, whose 10-5 record included a victory over 2017 NCAA gold medalist Andras Nemuth of St. John's. Ben Slavin in men's sabre went 8-5, posting a win over Yale's 2017 NCAA qualifier Walter Musgrave. Ella Morgan and Jamie Bang were each 8-7 in women's epee, while three women's foilists earned victories against NCAA qualifiers: Amanda Lewis defeated Sarah Pak of Yale, Brooke Solsky defeated Anna Zhou of Yale, and Kayla Moy defeated Mykra Boyd of Incarnate Word. In men's epee, MacGregor Mooney went 7-6, including a win over NCAA qualifier Alexander Sless of Incarnate Word.
