Eagles Win Fourth Straight; Run Past CCSU, 84-65
December 17, 2017 | Men's Basketball
Steffon Mitchell tallies first collegiate double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds
How It Happened:
Five Boston College players reached double figures in scoring as the Eagles extended their win streak to four in an 84-65 victory over Central Connecticut.
The first half featured three ties and four lead changes as Boston College and Central Connecticut combined to shoot 52% from the floor (27-52), making a combined 11-of-19 from beyond the arc. Neither team had more than a four-point advantage through the first 11 minutes of the first half, before a Nik Popovic 3-pointer made it 23-17 with 8:49 left in the period. The Eagles would take their largest lead of the half - seven points - on a Jerome Robinson 3-pointer at the buzzer and BC held a 43-36 advantage at the break.
Â
Boston College turned up the defensive intensity to start the second half, holding the Blue Devils to just four points through the first 7:00 of play on 2-of-13 shooting from the floor. The Eagles outscored Central Connecticut, 25-7, over that span, building as much as a 27-point lead.
Inside the Box Score
7-0 - Boston College is 7-0 when it scores 80 or more points this season.
