Atkinson and Creedon Compete at URI Pentathlon

Creedon finished in second place at the meet
KINGSTON, R.I. – Two members of the Boston College women's track and field team competed at the URI Pentathlon in Kingston, R.I. on Friday, Dec. 8. Freshman Jessica Creedon finished in second place in a field of 13 student-athletes with 3,431 points and senior Anna Atkinson took fourth place overall with 3,270 points.
Creedon's performance qualified her to compete in the pentathlon at the IC4A/ECAC Championships, the first time that the rookie will compete at the Championship meet.
Creedon and Atkinson had a combined seven top ten finishes in the five events they participated in. The full women's team will be back together to compete at the Bean Town Challenge at Harvard University on Jan. 14.

BC Highlights:
- In the 60 meter hurdles, Atkinson finished in second place with a time of 9.10. Creedon crossed the line in eighth place at 9.69 seconds.
- Creedon took second place in the high jump, clearing 1.69 meters. Atkinson finished in eighth place with a jump of 1.48 meters.
- Atkinson and Creedon finished back-to-back in the shot put with Atkinson earning second (9.78 meters) and Creedon finishing in third (9.68 meters).
- In the long jump, Creedon cleared 5.09 meters for fifth place and Atkinson took seventh place with a jump of 4.92 meters.
- The Eagles finished back-to-back in the 800 meter run as Atkinson took third with a time of 2:27.12. Creedon followed behind in fourth place at 2:27.47.
