
Road Trip Wraps Up for Eagles

Volleyball travels to Miami and Florida State
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College volleyball ends its last road trip of the 2017 campaign by challenging Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. Thursday night at 7 p.m. BC will wrap up the weekend taking on Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla. Sunday at 1 p.m. before returning to The Heights
The Eagles are coming off a two-loss weekend to North Carolina and N.C. State, both of which swept the Eagles. Graduate Lynn Braakhuis led the efforts on the weekend with 17 kills while sophomore Cat Balido registered 16 kills as well as added 16 digs last weekend. Sophomore Jill Strockis led the defense with 24 digs on the weekend. Sophomore Jane DeJarld tallied 49 assists on the weekend.
The Hurricanes are currently 15-5 overall and 9-5 in conference contests. They are coming off a loss to Pittsburgh last weekend. BC and Miami met twice last season and Miami came out on top in both matches, sweeping the Eagles on the road and winning in four in Chestnut Hill.
Senior Olga Strantzali leads Miami offensively with 369 kills on the season. She was honored with ACC Co-Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 30. Redshirt junior Haley Templeton was also chosen as ACC Player of the week early in the season, and leads the Hurricanes in assists with 819 on the season. Senior Slyvia Hernandez paces the Canes' defense with 305 digs on the year.
Before facing the Eagles, the Seminoles will host Syracuse. Currently, FSU is 12-10 overall and 6-8 in ACC matchups after coming off a two loss weekend to Miami and Pittsburgh – both in three straight sets. In their last pairing, FSU downed BC in four sets after the Eagles were triumphant in the first frame.
The Seminoles are paced by senior Milica Kubura, the ACC Player of the Week during Sept. 25, notching 294 kills on the season. Junior Brianne Burkert has team-high 706 assists, while senior Cecelie Wole leads FSU in digs with 357 on the season.
Both matches will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
