AJ Dillon Named ACC Rookie of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – For the second time this season, the Atlantic Coast Conference has named Boston College true freshman running back AJ Dillon the conference's rookie of the week.

Dillon rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns in BC's 39-16 win over UConn to become bowl eligible for the fourth time in five years Saturday evening at Fenway Park. It marked the second 200-yard game of the season for Dillon.

With 1,239 rushing yards this season, Dillon ranks second in the ACC in rushing and is second among all freshmen running backs nationally with 1,239 yards.

Dillon had two 50+ yard runs in the first half against UConn and totaled 140 yards and a touchdown at halftime.

Dillon is 10th in Boston College single-season history with 1,239 rushing yards. Dillon is fourth among ACC freshmen all-time in single-season rushing as well.

BC looks to close out the regular season with its seventh win of the year Saturday at Syracuse. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:20 p.m. with broadcast coverage on the ACC Network (my-38 in Boston) and the BC IMG Sports Network (WEEI 850 AM).
