
Eagles Look For Redemption Against Duke, Wake Forest

Volleyball returns to The Heights for final home stand
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College volleyball opens its last home stand of the 2017 campaign by hosting Duke on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Wake Forest on Sunday for Senior Day at 1 p.m.
The Eagles most recently played Miami, in which they entered the fifth set after winning the second and third sets, only to fall 15-11, then fell in three sets to Florida State to close their road slate for the season. Sophomore Jane DeJarld boosted the Eagles' efforts greatly, earning two double-doubles on the weekend, leading with 69 assists and 27 digs. Junior McKenna Goss was a driving force offensively, notching 30 kills over the weekend. Sophomore Jill Strockis served four aces on the weekend, three coming against Miami, her high for the season.
The Blue Devils hold a 16-11 record currently and 8-8 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. They are on a three-game losing streak after falling to Louisville, Wake Forest and Pittsburgh, but downed BC in three sets when the pair last met on Oct. 1 in Durham for their home-and-home series.
Senior Cadie Bates leads Duke with 314 kills on the season, while senior Emma Paradiso has tallied 568 assists. Senior Nicole Elattrache has recorded 443 digs thus far to lead the Blue Devils defensively.
Before facing the Eagles, the Demon Deacons will make a pit stop at Syracuse. At the moment, Wake Forest is 12-16 overall, slating a 4-12 record in conference matches. After downing Duke at home, the Demon Deacons fell in three sets to Pittsburgh. At their last meeting, Wake Forest brought down BC, 3-0, and the Eagles are looking for redemption.
Pacing the Demon Deacons are senior Kylie Long (365 kills), freshman Madeline Holt (743 assists) and senior Caroline Wolf (423 digs).
Both matches will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
