Five players score in double figures in win over Black Bears
How It Happened:
ÂBoston College trailed Maine early on, as the Black Bears led 12-6 less than five minutes into the contest. Â But a 13-2 run capped by a Johncarlos Reyes layup, put the Eagles up 19-14 with 10:48 left in the half. Â Maine would tie it at 21-21 and cut it as close as one point - 25-24 - with 4:41 to go in the half. Â But the Eagles would score seven unanswered and close the half on a 10-4 push, taking a 35-28 lead at the break.
ÂA 7-2 push to start the second half - paced by five points by Ky Bowman - put BC up by 12, at 42-30 with 18:13 to go. Â A 10-2 run midway through the half made it a 20-point game and the Eagles kept their advantage in double figures the rest of the way. Â Vin Baker Jr.'s second collegiate bucket gave BC its largest lead of the night - 22 points - at 85-63 with just under a minute to play.

Deontae Hawkins recorded his sixth career double-double, finishing the game with 13 points and a team-leading 15 rebounds.

Hawkins is the first BC player to tally 15 rebounds since Ryan Anderson recorded 19 versus New Hampshire on Dec. 16, 2012.

He is the first BC player to record a double-double since Ky Bowman, who had 24 points and 11 rebounds against Florida State on Feb, 20, 2017.

Ky Bowman and Jerome Robinson led the team with 18 points apiece. Bowman added six rebounds and three assists. Robinson led the Eagles with four assists while also grabbing four boards.

Johncarlos Reyes scored a career-high 12 points. His previous career-high of 11 points came against UMass Lowell on Dec. 6, 2015. Â Reyes was 6-of-7 from the floor on the night, while adding six boards and two blocks.
- Jordan Chatman added 11 points in 28 minutes to round out the double-digit scorers on the night.
- Nik Popovic added seven points, seven boards, two blocks, an assist and a steal in 19 minutes.
- The Eagles improved their all-time series record vs. Maine to 17-4.

Freshmen Steffon Mitchell, Luka Kraljevic, Avery Wilson and Vin Baker Jr. each made their collegiate debuts on the night.

Mitchell played 25 minutes, grabbing seven boards - six in the second half. Â Baker added four points in five minutes of play.
