Schwab Earns ACC Linebacker of the Week Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday that Boston College senior Ty Schwab was named the conference's linebacker of the week, the ACC announced Monday.

It was the first time in Schwab's career he has been named the ACC Linebacker of the Week.

The Florida native was all over the field to lead a dominant BC defense in its 35-3 win over Florida State. Schwab finished with a career-best 12 tackles along with a sack and 2.5 tackles for a loss and recorded his second career interception in his 44th career game for the Eagles.

The Eagles held FSU to just three points, the first time since Sept. 26, 2009 (17-7 loss vs. USF) the Seminoles failed to score 10 points.

The last time Florida State failed to score a touchdown prior to tonight was against Wake Forest on Sept. 20, 2008 (12-3 loss).

Boston College held FSU to 213 yards of total offense.

Boston College (5-4, 3-3 ACC) are idle this week before returning to action Saturday, November 11 in the home finale against NC State.
