Eagles Hit The Road For Final Regular Season Game
October 25, 2017 | Women's Soccer
BC to play at Pittsburgh on Thursday night at 7.
NEWTON, MASS. – The Boston College women's soccer team will play at Pittsburgh on Thursday night at 7 p.m. on the final regular season match. The game can be seen live on the ACC Network Extra.Â
Boston College (9-8-1, 3-5-1 ACC) needs a victory over Pittsburgh to remain in contention for the ACC Tournament. The Eagles will also need Florida State to defeat Clemson and NC State to defeat Louisville in order to advance to the ACC Tournament.
Â
The Eagles are coming off a tough 2-1 home loss to Virginia. BC took a 1-0 lead on a goal by sophomore Jenna Bike. The speedster scored off a beautifully placed ball over the UVA defense from freshman Sam Coffey.
Â
It looked like BC took a 2-0 lead when Carly Leipzig scored minutes later on a beautiful one-timer off a cross from senior Lauren Berman. A late offside call negated the goal. Six minutes later, UVA tied the match and the Cavs then scored the game-winner in the 71st minute.
