Volleyball to return to Chestnut Hill Thursday
ATLANTA, Ga. – Boston College volleyball fell on Sunday in Atlanta to Georgia Tech, 25-16, 25-16, 25-15.
In the first and second sets, Georgia Tech found runs from which BC could not recover, falling in both sets, 25-16. In the third frame, the Yellow Jackets hit a 6-1 right away and, though it was squashed by the Eagles, BC couldn't find their own and fell in the third, 25-15, and the match.
Graduate Lynn Braakhuis, hitting .381 from eight kills, 21 total attempts and no errors, led the Eagles. This was her first match this season with no attack errors. Sophomore Jane DeJarld had team-high 18 assists, while sophomore Jill Strockis had seven digs on the match.
The Yellow Jackets' Kodie Comby led the match with 11 kills, hitting .786, and was followed by Gabriela Stavnetchi with 10 kills.

BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Braakhuis led the Eagles, hitting .381 with no errors. This is her first match of the season with no hitting errors and her second highest attack percentage.
- Braakhuis and sophomore Cat Balido had total attempts in the doubles digits and hit over .300. Balido hit .333.
- DeJarld led BC with 18 assists.
- Three Eagles hit high percentages in the first set: Braakhuis (.600), Balido (.500) and Chukwujekwu (.429).
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1
A kill from junior McKenna Goss opened scoring for this first frame, however Georgia Tech took the lead as it found a 6-1 run, forcing a BC timeout. The teams traded points, but the Eagles couldn't pull themselves back up and Georgia Tech takes the set, 25-16.
SET 2
A ball handling error from the Yellow Jackets handed the Eagles the first point of the set. Starting at 8-5, Georgia Tech hit a 5-1 run, again bringing a timeout from the Eagles. Though a kill from sophomore Sophie West sparked a 4-1 run for the Eagles, they were still behind and could not catch up. Georgia Tech won the second frame, 25-16.
SET 3
The Yellow Jackets opened out the set on a 6-1 run. Though no big runs were found again, the Eagles couldn't find their own break and fell in the final set, 25-1
