BC had eight participants in this first challenge

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Boston College men's tennis team opened the 2017-18 campaign over the weekend at the Brown University Invitational. Eight of the Eagles' 17-man roster participated this weekend.

All the doubles pairings picked up at least one win this weekend with the pairings of sophomore Derek Austin and freshman Chris Grasel, and seniors Will Turner and Jeffrey Melvin each winning two doubles matches apiece.

Four Eagles picked up two singles victories, including Grasel, senior Kent Mukai, freshman Santiago Montufar and sophomore Alexander Chieffalo.

The Eagles will return to the court on Oct. 27.
