
Eagles Soar at the New England Catholic Invite

On Friday, October 13th-October 14th, the Eagles hosted the annual New England Catholic Invitational Meet. The women triumphed over Fairfield University, Saint Francis University, College of the Holy Cross, Providence College, Assumption College, and Merrimack College; while the men competed against Providence College, College of the Holy Cross, and Fairfield University. The women beat the second place finisher, St. Francis University, 1161-692. The men triumphed over the second place winner, Providence College, 1461-702.5. It was a strong and energetic showing for both the men and women's teams.
MEN
-The men's 200 freestyle relay team of Mike Hinton, Kevin Chandra, Nico Junghahn, and Colin Derdeyn, placed first with a time of 1:26.94.
-Zander Santana placed first in the 500 freestyle (4:47.91) and Will Suchy placed second with a time of 4:50.36.
-400 medley relay of Colin O'Leary, Mckenzie Cole, Taylor Cortens, and Max Threlkeld placed first with a new NECI Record (3:30.94).
-200 medley relay took first and second: Colin O'Leary, Mckenzie Cole, Johnny Mooers, and Colin Derdeyn took first with a time of 1:36.55; Daniel Creighton, Billy Miller, Zachary Maher, and Kevin Chandra took second (1:37.84).
-Taylor Cortens placed first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:09.17 and the 200 IM (1:54.64).
-Robert McCrory placed first in both the the 1m diving (248.35) and 3m (236.30).
WOMEN
-The women's 200 freestyle relay team of Ina Elcott, Julie Dobson, Maria Abrams, and Ali Kea took first place and broke a NECI Meet record with a time of 1:38.62.
-Erika Freeman placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.80 (NECI Record)
-Maura Grimes, Taylor Covington, Victoria Lin, and Maria Abrams took first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:49.86.
-Victoria Lin placed first in the 100 butterfly (57.93) (NECI Record) and Ina Elcott took second (59.24)
-The 400 freestyle relay of Lauren Quinn, Julie Dobson, Erika Freeman, and Ali Kea took first and set a new NECI record (3:37.06).
-Ellie Uhl placed first in the 3m diving with a score of 217.20, and Gabriella Taghian placed third (198.00).
