Women’s XC heads to Louisville
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – On Saturday, Oct. 14, the Boston College women's cross country team will participate in the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet at "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, KY. Â
The Eagles will compete against 54 teams. Of the 54 teams competing, five are ranked in the top 30 according to USTFCCCA rankings. The five ranked teams include Michigan (No. 4), Arkansas (No. 9), Ole Miss (No. 12), Georgia (No. 25) and Mississippi State (No. 29).
The women's race is scheduled to go off at 10:45 a.m.
Head coach Randy Thomas explained the race strategy for Saturday. "Our team is a work in progress as we try to strengthen numbers three-seven while hoping our top two returning runners regain good health by the end of the season," Thomas said. "Our aim is to simply run as a team and see the race course prior to the ACC championships."
The Eagles did not compete at this meet last year, but will be visiting the "Tom" Sawyer Park multiple times this year as it is also the site of the ACC Championships and NCAA Championships. ACC rivals, Clemson, Louisville and Wake Forest will also be attending the meet.
