- BC is the Beanpot's defending champion, winning its sixth 'Pot in 2016
- This season, BC is defending the Beanpot and Hockey East Tournament titles and will gun for its first NCAA Championship after falling in the final last year ... the Eagles also successfully re-claimed its Hockey East regular-season title, which they've now won the last four seasons
BEANPOT HISTORY
- Boston College has appeared in all 38 editions of the Beanpot, playing the first 16 as a club program (1979-1994) and the last 22 as a varsity program (1995-present)
- The Eagles won their first Beanpot in 2006 and have won all six of their titles in the last 11 seasons ... BC was the Beanpot champion in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2016
- Boston College has appeared in 11 of the last 15 championship games, missing the final in 2004, 2008, 2010 and 2012

- In the first round, BC is 8-2-0 all-time against BU, and 6-1-0 against the Terriers since becoming a varsity club ... with both teams at the varsity level (2006 to present), BC is 2-1-0 in the first round against BU

UNBEATEN RUN NOW THE NATION'S LONGEST
- Boston College enters Tuesday game on a 14-game unbeaten run, going 12-0-2 in its last 14 games
- The Eagles' 14-game run is now the longest active unbeaten streak in the nation
- This current 14-game run is the fourth-longest unbeaten run in program history ... BC has prior unbeaten streaks of 40 (2015-16), 28 (2014-15) and 18 (2012-13) games
- BC has now posted unbeaten runs of at least 10 games in each of the last five seasons
- The Eagles' current unbeaten run began following a 5-3 loss at Boston University on Nov. 5
HOT STREAK CONTINUES INTO 2017
- After starting the season with a 3-2-2 record, Boston College has gone 16-1-2 in its last 19 games dating back to Oct. 22
- The Eagles' lone loss in this recent stretch came at Boston University on Nov. 5 when the Terriers stormed back to claim a 5-3 win after entering the third period down 2-0 ... since then, BC has gone 14 games undefeated (12-0-2)
- During the run that started in late October, the Eagles have played 11 road games, going 9-1-1 in those games, plus its 6-0-1 mark at Kelley Rink and a 1-0-0 mark in a neutral game at Fenway Park

- With their win over Merrimack last Wednesday night coupled with results on Friday and Saturday around the league, the Eagles claimed at least a share of the 2016-17 Hockey East regular-season title this weekend
- BC just need a single point in its final five games to claim the title as its own
- BC has now won the last four Hockey East regular-season crowns: 2013-14 with a 18-2-1 record, 2014-15 with a 20-0-1 mark and 2015-16 with a 24-0-0 record ... BC is 15-2-2 in league play so far this season
- UNH holds the league's record for consecutive regular-season titles: six from 2003-04 through 2008-09
HOCKEY EAST QUARTERFINAL SERIES ANNOUNCED
- Boston College was the first team to claim a top-four seed in the 2017 Hockey East Tournament and hosting rights for the Hockey East Quarterfinals
- BC will host the best-of-three series at the end of February at Kelley Rink
- Game 1: Thursday, Feb. 23 - 2 p.m.
- Game 2: Friday, Feb. 24 - 2 p.m.

- Katie Crowley is approaching the Hockey East coaching career wins mark (league games)
- Former UNH head coach Mark McCloskey and current Providence coach Bob Deraney currently share the record, but two other current coaches - including Crowley - are not far behind:
           1.        Brian McCloskey, UNH (2002-13) - 153 wins
                       Bob Deraney, Providence (2002-present) - 153 wins

BURT NOW IN RANGE OF HOCKEY EAST WINS RECORD, NCAA TOP 10
- Katie Burt is moving up a host of goaltender career wins charts as she enters the week with 82 career wins and the BC career wins mark already in hand
- Burt is in 11th place on the NCAA career wins chart ... with one more win - which will be her 83rd career victory - she will move her into a tie for 10th place with Judy Horak (Minnesota '05)
- As a junior, Burt is the second-winningest active goaltender in the NCAA, behind Wisconsin's Ann-Renee Desbiens (90), who is a senior
- With 49 career wins in conference play, Burt is also three wins back of the Hockey East career wins record (52), held by UNH's Melissa Bourdon '07 ... she comes into the week in third place and one back of tying BU's Kerrin Sperry '14 in second place (50 wins)
- Burt claimed the Boston College wins record as her own on Jan. 21 with a 3-0 shutout at Vermont ... it was her 81st career victory and passed Molly Schaus '11, who had 80 wins in her four seasons
- Schaus had 20-, 14-, 22- and 24-win seasons at The Heights to set the record at the end of her career in 2010-11
- So far in her two-plus year career, Burt has 30- and 35-win seasons and 17 wins so far this year
SPECIAL TEAMS DOING SPECIAL THINGS
- Boston College's special teams have been hot this season ... Eagles are second in the nation in combined special teams, proving successful in 136-of-232 opportunities this season (58.6 percent)
- On the power play, BC ranks second nationally with a 26.1 percent conversion (31-for-119) ... the team's 31 power-play goals are most in the nation by six (Colgate and Robert Morris, 25 each)
- On the penalty kill, the Eagles lead the nation with a 92.9 percent success rate (105-for-113) while scoring seven shorthanded goals - tied for most nationally
- So far this season, 38 of the Eagles' 92 goals have come via special teams (31 PPGs, 7 SHGs) ... and BC has added an extra-attacker goal, too
- BC has tallied at least one special-teams goal (PPG and/or SHG) in 24 of 26 games this year
BURT POWERING THE UNBEATEN RUN
- Katie Burt has been stellar in net during the Eagles' 14-game unbeaten run, powering the team from the back
- Since the second week in November, Burt is second nationally with a 1.14 goals against average coming in 13 starts in goal
- Burt's 11 wins since the second week in November are also second-most nationally, behind Minnesota Duluth's Maddie Rooney (12) ... Burt's .923 winning percentage is the nation's best since the second week in November
- Burt's three shutouts in that timeframe are tied for second-most nationally behind Desbiens
- In that time, Burt's .945 save percentage is fourth-best nationally while playing at least three more games than the three goalies above her (Wisconsin's Ann-Renee Desbiens' .963, Princeton's Steph Neatby's .952 and Cornell's Paula Voorheis' .946)
- Burt also played all but one game of the Eagles' 14 games in that run ... Desbiens played in just 10 of Wisconsin's 15 games ... Neatby played in 10 of Princeton's 16 games ... Voorheis played in 10 of Cornell's 18 games
THE EAGLES' NEXT CENTURIANS
- Three different Eagles are making a push for 100 career points this season after passing 75 points last season
- Kristyn Capizzano has 97 career points, while Kenzie Kent and Megan Keller each have 96 career points
- When they make it to 100 points, they will be the 14th, 15th and 16th players to reach the 100-point plateau ... Keller will be just the second BC defenseman to reach that mark
NEWKIRK STEAMROLLING INTO THE LAST PART OF THE SCHEDULE
- Sophomore Makenna Newkirk just became the 28th player in program history to record at least 75 points, doing so on Jan. 20 at Vermont
- She reached that mark in 65Â games
- Newkirk comes into Tuesday's game with a six-game point streak intact during which she's collected eight points
- Newkirk has at least one point in 16 of the team's last 18 games dating back to Oct. 22
- When she scores a goal, BC is 6-1-0 ... the Eagles are 14-1-0 when she tallies an assist
- With 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists), Newkirk is the team's leading scorer entering the Beanpot
CAPIZZANO SETS NEW CAREER BEST
- With her shorthanded goal against Merrimack on Jan. 25, Kristyn Capizzano scored her 12 goal of the season
- With that goal, the senior established her a season-best total, surpassing the 11 goals she netted as both a freshman and sophomore
- Capizzano now has 43 career goals, which include eight power-play goals and three shorthanded strikes
