- Sophomore center Mariella Fasoula finished with 21 points and six rebounds, while graduate senior Kailey Edwards pitched in with eight points, three assists and two steals.

- The Eagles won the battle of the boards, 38-34. Kelly Hughes and Georgia Pineau had seven rebounds apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College was down 10-9 after one quarter as the Eagles shot 33 percent from the floor and held Miami to 20 percent.
- The Eagles fell behind 18-13 on a drive by Jessica Thomas but the Eagles cut the lead to two points on a half-hook by Fasoula. A three by Laura Cornelius hit a three from the corner to give Miami a, 21-16 lead with 4:49 to play in the quarter. Miami closed the quarter on a 14-2 run to take a 32-18 lead at the half. Turnovers hurt the Eagles as they turned the ball over 20 times in the half.
- An 8-3 run to open the third quarter cut into the Miami lead, 35-26, with 6:37 to play. Fasoula had five points while Hughes hit her second three-pointer off a nice pass from Kailey Edwards. The Eagles cut the lead to 41-34 on two free throws from Fasoula with 48 seconds to play but then gave back three points on foul shots in the final 30 seconds. Miami held a 44-34 lead after three quarters. BC shot 50 percent from the floor in the quarter.
- Fasoula picked up two quick fouls to open up the quarter but the Eagles hung tough outscored Miami, 9-1 to cut the Hurricanes lead to two points – 45-43 – with 5:59 to play. Fasoula had four points while Emma Guy had a traditional three-point play. The Eagles tied the game on two free throws from Kailey Edwards and took the lead for the first time at 3:22 left on a lay-in by Georgia Pineau. UM's Jessica Thomas scored the next six points to give Miami a 54-49 lead with 1:09 to play. Miami missed a long jumper but grabbed the long rebound going out of bounds and called a timeout with 33 seconds to play. The Eagles had two more chances to cut into the lead but the Miami defense held BC scoreless.
