BC HIGHLIGHTS
- The Boston College women's track and field team took to Boston University on Thursday evening for a quad meet against the hosting Terriers, UMass Lowell, and Sacred Heart.
- Senior Claudia DiSomma and sophomore Paige Duca checked in with the top highlight of the night for the Eagles. In the 1000m, DiSomma (2:49.05) and Duca (2:49.99) finished first and third place, respectively, furthermore landing them in the top-10 of all-time performances in the event for Boston College. With her time, DiSomma now possesses the fifth best mark in the 1000m in Boston College history, while Duca's time is seventh best.
- Freshman Emma Taylor also found herself making Boston College history by the end of the evening. In the 60m hurdles, Taylor set a new personal best of 9.20 to finish fourth place overall, which is now also the fifth best all-time mark in the event for the Eagles.
- Junior Molly McCabe earned a win in the 500m, crossing the line in 1:14.92. The Eagles also rounded out the top four, with senior Robin Gross (1:17.55), junior Shannon Ahern (1:18.91) and junior Julia Barron (1:18.95) posting solid performances as well.
- While DiSomma and Duca rewrote the record books in the 1000m, junior Laura Leff and sophomore Gianna Bender also turned in exceptional personal best performances in sixth and seventh places, respectively, with times of 2:56.50 and 2:57.77.
- In the field events, sophomore Elizabeth Knoll continued her domination in the high jump, leaping for a first-place height of 1.60m (5'3"), bowing out attempting a new personal record height.
- The Eagles again closed out the meet on a high note, taking home the victory in the 4x400m relay. Sophomore Johann Celli, Taylor, senior Christina Kyritsis and McCabe posted the top time of 3:55.61, after McCabe's anchor leg gave Boston College a come-from-behind win.
