New Records Set at Tufts' Hamilton Pool

Anthony Richardson, McKenzie Cole, Colin Derdeyn Taylor Cortens earn new personal and pool records in meet against Tufts.
The Swim and Dive teams had tremendous wins over their host Tufts University. Several Eagles earned new personal and pool records at the Hamilton Pool. The women beat the Jumbos with a final score of 237.5 - 119.5 and the men 218 - 139.Â

- Ina Elcott, Taylor Covington, Victoria Lin and Grace Kunkel took first in the 200 yd. medleyy relay with a final time of 1:50.97.Â
- Freshman Kristina Fecarotta took first in the 200 yd. freestyle with a time of 1:59.19, beating the second place Tufts finisher by just .01 seconds. Erika Freeman and Lauren Quinn followed in third and fourth clocking in at 1:59.31 and 1:59.92.Â
- Anthony Richardson placed first in the 200 yd. freestyle (1:40.19) and the 500 yd. freestyle (4:40.51) setting two new Hamilton Pool records. Michael Hinton followed Richardson for second in the 200 yd. freestyle with 1:44.87.Â
- Freshman Taylor Covington came in second place in the 100 yd. breaststroke with a time of 1:08.73, only .6 seconds behind the first place finisher from Tufts.Â
- The men swept the 100 yd. breaststroke with McKenzie Cole in first (59.79), Billy Miller in second (1:00.97), Sami Fares in third (1:01.64) and Charles Kleinsmith in fourth (1:02.00).
- Sophomore Julie Dobson took first in the 50 yd. freestyle with a time of 25.16, followed closely by Senior Grace Kunkel with a time of 25.34.Â
- Senior Madeline Mailliard tok first place in the 200 yd. backstroke with a time of 2:08.31 and in the 100 yd. backstroke with a time of 59.88.Â
- The women swept the 50 yd. backstroke with Ina Elcott in first (21.97), Caroline Quindelin in second (28.02) and Victoria Lin in third (28.04).Â
- Taylor Cortens set a new BC school record and Hamilton Pool record in the 100 yd. IM with a time of 52.84. Cortens and Lucas Saliba took first and second in the 200 yd. backstroke, clocking in at 2:08.68 and 2:15.52.Â
- Colin Derdeyn placed first in the 100 Yard Butterfly (51.93) and set a new Hamilton Pool record in the 50 Yard Butterfly (23.10)
- McKenzie Cole placed first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (59.79) and set a new Hamilton Pool record in the 50 Yard Breaststroke (26.65).Â
- Cecilia O'Reilly finished first in women's 1M diving with a score of 260, edging out Gabby Taghian by .1 point.Â
- Corinne Larkin finished first in women's 3M diving with a score of 249, edging out Gabby Taghian by .1 point.
- Cole Malatesta finished first in the men's 3M diving with a score of 357 while Jack McCarthy  finished 3rd with a career best of 303

The men's team will compete at Harvard University on Saturday January 21st.Â
