- BC is 1-0-0 at Kelley Rink and 2-0-0 in North Andover, Mass.

- BC went 4-for-9 on the power play last year against Merrimack and 1-for-11 on the penalty kill
- Player Notes
- Makenna Newkirk (3-1-4) and Megan Keller (1-3-4) are the Eagles' active leading scorers against Merrimack
- Newkirk had a two-goal game at Lawler Rink on Jan. 15, 2016 and followed it with a 1-goal, 1-assist performance in the second road game on Jan. 26
- Megan Keller has recorded at point in all three previous meetings against Merrimack on Jan. 15 ... her goal in the teams' first-ever meeting was the insurance tally in the 2-0 win at Merrimack ... after she picked up an assist the next day at Kelley Rink, she added two assists in the return game at Lawler Rink on Jan. 26

THREE-GAME WEEK IS BUSIEST STRETCH THIS SEASON
- BC is playing three games in five days this week
- Following Tuesday's win against Harvard in their Frozen Fenway debut, the Eagles will now face Merrimack in a two-game Hockey East series on Friday and Saturday
- This week marks the most congested segment of the Eagles' schedule and is also part of a six-week stretch that sees BC play five mid-week games
- This is one of only two weeks this season BC will play three games in a competition week ... the Eagles will also play a trio of games on Feb. 7 (Beanpot second round), Feb. 10 (Northeastern) and Feb. 12 (Vermont), but there are six days spanning those games
UNBEATEN RUN AMONG NATION'S CURRENT LONGEST ... AND PROGRAM'S LONGEST
- Boston College enters the weekend with a nine-game unbeaten run, going 7-0-2 in its last nine game
- The Eagles hold the nation's third-longest active unbeaten streak, behind Clarkson's 16-game run (13-0-3) and Robert Morris' 13-game streak (10-0-3)
- This current nine-game run is the sixth-longest unbeaten run in program history ... BC has prior unbeaten runs of 40 (2015-16), 28 (2014-15), 18 (2012-13), 11 (2013-14) and 10 (2010-11) games.
- The team's 10-game streak (7-0-3) opened the 2010-11 season and ran from Oct. 8 through Nov. 7
- Should the Eagles pick up a win or a tie on Friday, it would mark the fifth straight season BC has owned an unbeaten run of at least 10 games
ANASTOS CRACKS EVEN MORE TOP 10s
- Captain Andie Anastos had a breakthrough night on Tuesday at the Eagles' Frozen Fenway win over Harvard
- The senior not only moved into a 10th-place tie on the Eagles' career scoring chart with 125 points, she also moved into a 10th-place tie on BC's career assist chart with her 73rd and 74th career assists
- In BC's 3-1 win, Anastos picked up a pair of assists, moving her up in both charts ... she's tied with Laura Traynham '97 on the points chart and is two points back of ninth place ... on the assists chart, she's tied with Deb Spillane '08 and only five assists back of seventh place (79)
- Anastos is already ranked in the Eagles' career top 10 charts in game-winning goals (T-seventh, 10) and shorthanded goals (T-seventh, 4) ... with 51 career goals, she's five goals back of cracking the top 10 in career goals (56)
TRIO MOTORS NATION'S MOST PRODUCTIVE MAN-ADVANTAGE UNIT
- Boston College leads the nation in power-play goals with 28 and ranks second in power-play percentage (.280) ... a trio of players have been a driving force in that success
- Sophomore Makenna Newkirk leads Hockey East and ranks fourth nationally in power-play points (12)
- Newkirk's 10 power-play assists are also tops in not only HEA, but also tied for the national lead
- Freshman Caitrin Lonergan and senior Andie Anastos are tied for fifth nationally in power-play points with 11 apiece, and are tied for second in Hockey East behind Newkirk
- Lonergan is tied for sixth nationally in power-play assists (7), while Anastos is tied for third nationally in power-play goals (5)
HOCKEY EAST OPPONENTS (ALMOST) EXCLUSIVELY HERE ON OUT
- Boston College's schedule sees seven straight Hockey East opponents up next, with six of those games counting in the league standings
- BC faces Merrimack twice, Vermont twice and Merrimack again before facing Boston University in a non-conference game in the first round of the Beanpot on Jan. 31
- After that, the Eagles will host UConn and could face another non-conference Hockey East opponent in the second round of the Beanpot depending on the outcome of the Northeastern (HEA) - Harvard (ECAC) first-round game
- After the Beanpot, Boston College closes the year with single games against Northeastern and Vermont, as well as a two-game series against Providence before heading into the Hockey East Tournament
BURT MAKING HOCKEY EAST HISTORY ALREADY
- Katie Burt's 17-save shutout at Providence on Dec. 3 was the 26th shutout of her career overall, and her 18th shutout in Hockey East play
- It moved her into a tie for the Hockey East career shutout record (in league games), matching Melissa Bourdon who also had 18 at UNH (2003-07)
- Overall, Burt's 26 career shutouts rank eighth in NCAA history ... she is just three back of seventh place (Erica Howe/Clarkson '14) at 29 and four back of a tie for fifth place with Bourdon and Alex Rigsby/Wisconsin '14 at 30
BURT'S WINS ADDING UP TO RECORD MARKS
- Katie Burt is also moving up a host of goaltender career wins charts as she enters the weekend with 77 career wins
- She is now just three wins back of Molly Schaus' BC career record of 80
- Burt enters the weekend in 14th place on the NCAA career chart, and her next win will move her into a 12th-place tie with Rachel Barrie (St. Lawrence '04) and Laura Mosier (Mercyhurst '07) ... her 80th win will tie Schaus for 11th on the NCAA chart
- She is also eight wins back of the Hockey East career wins record (52), held by UNH's Melissa Bourdon '07 ... she is currently in fifth pace with 44 wins, two shy of third place (46) which is held by a pair of former BC 'tenders: Corinne Boyles '14 and Molly Schaus '11
ANASTOS IS THE EAGLES' ANCHOR
- Captain Andie Anastos has been the team's anchor this season, leading the Eagles to an 11-1-4 mark in games in which she's played all three periods
- She picked up two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in the season-opening 3-3 tie at Minnesota Duluth but then was injured in the first period the following night
- While Anastos dressed for the next four games, she did not play a single shift in those games - returning to the ice formally on Oct. 21 in the team's 0-0 tie against No. 3 Quinnipiac
- She has posted 23 points (9 goals, 14 assists) in 17 full games - a 1.31 points per game mark ... that mark would tie for ninth nationally if the games she dressed but did not play were not counted toward her games played total
- Not only does Anastos center the top line, she is also on the first unit of both the power play and the penalty kill
NEWKIRK NOW ON THE CLOCK FOR 75
- Sophomore Makenna Newkirk should be the next Eagle to hit the 75-point mark
- She comes into Friday's game with 72 career points in 62 career games ... she has notched 27 career goals and added 45 career assists
- When she reaches the 75-point mark, she will be the 28th player in program history to accumulate 75 points
