BC Loses ACC Opener at Syracuse

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
The match opened with both teams on even ground until the Orange put up six straight points to take a 13-6 lead. The Eagles tried chipping away but could not come within more than three points, as Syracuse took five of the last six points to win the set 25-18.
Set 2
BC won the first point, but Syracuse went on a tremendous 11-0 run to take the lead from there. The Maroon and Gold could not string together a run and dropped the set 25-12.
Set 3
The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead and used a four point run later on to go ahead 9-5, their largest lead thus far in the match. The Orange did not go away though, and held within one point at 12-11 before BC used a 6-0 run to lead 18-11 and go on to win the set 25-15.
Set 4
The Orange led by as many as three points early in the set, but the Eagles were able to draw even at 13 all. Syracuse grabbed a two-point lead at 18-16, leading to a BC timeout. The Eagles tied the match again at 18, but the Orange won seven of the next ten points for a 25-21 victory.
