HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
The match began with little separation between the two teams. The Huskies pulled ahead with three straight points to go up 14-11, forcing BC to call timeout. Northeastern extended their lead to 18-14, causing another timeout by the Eagles. The Huskies hung on to take the opener, 25-19.
Set 2
The Eagles won five straight points early to take a 7-2 lead. Northeastern kept hacking away at the BC lead, though, and was able to draw even at 13. The teams kept exchanging points, and the Huskies took a 21-20 lead that forced a BC timeout. The Maroon and Gold came back to tie the set at 23, and fended off six set points, but Northeastern converted their seventh set point for a 32-30 victory.
Set 3
The Huskies gradually pulled away from the start of the set, leading 10-6, then 17-11 when the Eagles called timeout. BC never mustered much of a threat as Northeastern took the set 25-16.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will begin ACC play next weekend, making the trip up to Syracuse, N.Y., to take on the Orange on Friday evening at 5:30.
