The Eagles' 2016 campaign has begun with preseason camp

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College football team is back on the field as the Eagles embark on the 2016 season looking for redemption. On Monday, the team was back to work with the first day of practice.

As noted leading up to the season, there is competeition at the quarterback position between redshirt sophomore Darius Wade and graduate transfer Patrick Towles. The Kentucky natives noted that he has been in QB battles since his time at Kentucky while Wade acknowledged that the competition brings out the best in all players.

Fourth-year head coach Steve Addazio is relying on his veterans to lead a prodominantly young group as the Eagles look to bounce back after a disappointing 2015 season.

In NFL notes, former Eagle and 10-year professional veteran Will Blackmon, a member of the Washington Redskins, is making the switch to safety, but he says it is not a big deal.
