Lining Up: Meet Connecticut

As the kickoff of the 2016 Boston College football season rapidly approaches, we're taking a look at the Eagles 12 opponents to give fans a quick overview of what to expect on the field.

The Eagles wrap up the home slate with a bout wtih regional rival Connecticut. It will be the first time since 2004 the two New England clubs will meet and not only will the BC seniors be honored before the game, but one of the all-time BC greats, Matt Ryan, a three-time Pro Bowler, will have his jersey retired at halftime.

BC head coach Steve Addazio and UConn head coach Bob Diaco have both coached in a BCS national championship game. Addazio was a member of the Florida staff that won national championships in 2006 and 2008 and Diaco was a member of the Notre Dame staff that led the Irish in the 2013 BCS championship game.
